VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man was arrested in connection with a shooting on Atlantic Avenue, police said.
According to officials, on Nov. 16, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue just before 2 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived to the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
On Nov. 20, after reviewing automatic license plate reader cameras, video footage and eyewitness statements, police arrested 35-year-old Timothy Kashner in connection with the incident.
Kashner was charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, shooting in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
“Cameras help solve crimes,” VBPD Chief Paul Neudigate said. “Whether is be security cameras or automatic license plate readers, technology plays an invaluable role in our continuing mission to protect and serve our community.”
