Kiahnna Patterson is the weekend morning anchor at WAVY-TV 10.
She started as an intern at WAVY, worked the studio cameras and teleprompter, then returned to the station as the morning reporter in 2018.
A native of Newport News and an ODU grad, Kiahnna is excited to deliver the news in her hometown.
She is a passionate advocate for domestic violence awareness. Throughout the year, she highlights the dangers of domestic violence and factors that prevent survivors from leaving toxic relationships. She also compiled a list of local resources for survivors on https://digital-dev.wavy.com/. Her work has been recognized by the National Coalition against Domestic Violence (NCADV) and Girls Recognizing our Worth Inc (GROW Foundation).
Before reporting with WAVY, Kiahnna worked as a multimedia journalist with WBTW News13 based in Myrtle Beach, SC.
During her time, she covered the Florence Bureau of seven different Pee Dee and NC Border counties. While working with the number one news station in the area, she had a major impact in providing up-to-date information on a variety of stories such as the Hurricane Matthew flooding, two missing children cases, and numerous FBI investigations on violent crimes.
For Kiahnna’s dedication and commitment to serving the local area, she was awarded the Dillon County “Quality of Life Award.”
Before moving to South Carolina, she worked behind the scenes for a year at WAVY-TV 10. She was also a production and news intern at WAVY during her undergrad.
Kiahnna received a Bachelor’s of Science at Old Dominion University. While pursuing her Bachelor of Science, she majored in Communication with a minor in Women’s Studies.
