Blog: 60s for Sunday, rain returns Monday

Sunday features an actual warm up, with temperatures near 60. This comes ahead of an approaching storm system that brings us rain chances for the start and middle part of this week.

Rain showers will be possible Monday, especially in the morning. These should be light overall, but just enough to make you need the windshield wipers or rain gear as you head off to work. Showers should come to an end Monday afternoon. Below is our FutureTrak model – I do think there could be a little more coverage of showers than what this shows.

Tuesday – some more rain chances return – with the best chances in NC. Much of the day Tuesday may be dry across VA, with rain returning region wide Tuesday night. That’s when it looks like a steadier rain should begin. Wednesday will also be a day for rain…and it could be a wash-out.

Rainfall could be locally heavy at times Wednesday, with a chance for a rumble of thunder or two as well. Rainfall totals of 1″-1.5″ are possible.

Drier and cooler again Thursday into Friday, with temperatures in the 40s in the wake of this cold front. Next weekend looks decent, but cool with highs in the 40s and 50s.

Hope you have a great Sunday!
