HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – 10 On Your Side is proud to be a part of this year’s Hampton Holly Days Parade.
Join WAVY News 10’s Kiahnna Patterson and Meteorologist Ricky Matthews Saturday, Dec. 7 in Downtown Hampton. The parade kicks off at 5 p.m.
Ring in the holiday season as illuminated floats, marching bands, community groups and organizations entertain and light up the streets of Hampton.
The parade goes through the streets of Downtown Hampton from City Hall to Darling Stadium.
According to the city, this is the longest-running illuminated holiday parade on the Peninsula.
This year’s theme is “Toys, Games & Candy Canes.”
Road Closures
There will be periodic road closures in the area beginning around 3 p.m. on Dec. 7 and lasting until approximately 9 p.m. Expect congestion and varying traffic patterns during hours leading up to and immediately after the parade, in the following locations:
- Settlers Landing Road between Bridge and Wine Street (Closed at 3 p.m.)
- Eaton Street between Settlers Landing Road and Lincoln Street (Southbound lanes closed at 3 p.m.; Northbound lanes will remain open)
- Franklin Street between West Pembroke Avenue and Lincoln Street (Closed at 3 p.m.)
- Lincoln Street between Eaton Street and North Armistead Avenue (Closed at 3 p.m.)
- Settlers Landing Road between Eaton Street and Kecoughtan Road (Closed to all traffic at 4:30 p.m.)
- Kecoughtan Road between Settlers Landing Road and Victoria Boulevard (Closed to all traffic at 4 p.m.)
Parking Restrictions
No parking will be allowed on Saturday, Dec. 7 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the following:
- Both sides of Lincoln Street between Eaton Street and Armistead Avenue
- Eaton Street between Lincoln Street and Queens Way
- Settlers Landing Road between Armistead Avenue and Eaton Street
- Franklin Street between Eaton Street and West Pembroke Avenue
Anyone parked in these areas will be ticketed and towed at owner’s expense.
