ONANCOCK, Va. (WAVY) — An overnight house fire in Onancock took approximately two and a half hours to control on Sunday, according to Parksley Volunteer Fire Company Inc.
At around 1:05 a.m., fire crews were dispatched to Wise Street in reference to a residential structure fire. A caller reported fire showing from the rear of the house.
When crews arrived, they found heavy fire showing from the home and made a defensive attack. It took over an hour to control the blaze and about two and a half hours for overhaul operations.
Approximately 40,000 gallons of water was used.
There were no injuries reported.
