Teenage boy injured in Chesapeake shooting, police investigate

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A teenage boy is injured after a shooting in Chesapeake on Saturday evening, according to police.

At approximately 8 p.m., Chesapeake police officers responded to the area of Holley Cove Drive and Schooner Trail in reference to gunshots being heard and the possibility of someone being shot.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that someone was shot in the alley of the 4100 block of Schooner Trail but exited the scene before their arrival.

The victim showed up to a local hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident is an active investigation.
