PARIS (WAVY) – On Saturday, Virginia Beach native and Grammy Award winner Pharrell Williams performed as part of the reopening ceremony for the famed Notre Dame Cathedral.
Williams posted about his performance with Voices Of Fire on Instagram, calling it a “historic moment.”
During the ceremony, the bells of the Cathedral rang for the first time since a fire tore through the landmark five years ago, nearly destroying it.
French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the public during the ceremony, which was also attended by various public figures, including First Lady Jill Biden, President-elect Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Britain’s Prince William and billionaire Elon Musk.
Following the ceremony, on Sunday, the Cathedral held its first mass, where close to 170 bishops from around the world attended.
The Cathedral in now open to the public for visiting.
