Portsmouth police investigate Saturday morning shooting

A humpback whale has washed up on Corolla beach on Thursday. According to Jennette's Pier, members of the OBX Marine Mammal Stranding Network located the dead juvenile whale washed up just north of Shad Street in the surf zone.

A grand jury has indicted a sailor for animal torture, one year after a dog starved to death in Virginia Beach.
